Dr. Mombazo is a group of musicians from Seattle who have been recording together for the last 20 years. Their original music derives from an amalgamation of rock, funk, acid jazz, techno, down tempo, and various other ethnic influences. The music has best been described as "acid jazz meets ethnic funk".
The band consists of Craig Rosenberg on drums and percussion, Michael Crouse on bass guitar, Sean Lahay on keyboards, Glen Lynskey, Colin Higgins, and Bill MacDonald on electric guitar, Alex Wurmbrand on violin, E.J. Erickson and Eric Barber on Sax, Bill Currie on keyboards and electric violin, and Toni Redmond and Jon Dillon on vocals.
